Trump is 'open' to a role for RFK Jr. as polls suggest that his dropping out could hurt Harris.

 

Donald Trump mentioned he'd "be open" to offering Robert F. Kennedy Jr. a role in his administration if the independent presidential candidate were to drop out of the 2024 race and endorse him. Trump made these remarks during an interview with CNN on Tuesday.

This comes after Nicole Shanahan, Kennedy's running mate, suggested that they could potentially "walk away right now and join forces with Donald Trump" to prevent Vice President Kamala Harris from becoming president.

Kennedy, who initially sought the Democratic nomination before running as an independent, has faced controversies during his campaign, including past accusations of sexual assault, which he denies, and his admission to once dumping a dead bear cub in Central Park.

During an episode of Tom Bilyeu's Impact Theory, Shanahan discussed the possibility of either continuing their independent run or joining forces with Trump, expressing more trust in Trump’s leadership than in Harris's potential presidency.


When asked by CNN's Kristen Holmes about considering Kennedy for a role in his administration, Trump responded positively, praising Kennedy as a "brilliant" and "very smart guy," and expressing openness to the idea if Kennedy were to exit the race.

Kennedy later indicated on X that he is open to discussions with any party leader, including Trump, to advance his long-standing goals.

Recent polls suggest that if Kennedy were to drop out, a significant portion of his supporters would likely back Trump, especially in key battleground states, potentially impacting the race in favor of the former president.
